SKINCARE EMPTIES AUGUST 2024

August is over and it came with a number of skincare empties! Check out my reviews below on the skincare products I finished up and whether or not I plan to repurchase them.

skincare empties

I found myself hitting that final pump, final squeeze, and final scoop on several products during August, leaving me with several skincare empties to review and decide whether I wanted to repurchase. Check out my thoughts on each skincare product below!

August 2024 Skincare Empties

  • Dr Idriss Soft Wash Complete Daily Cleanser

dr idriss skincare

I am in LOVE with this cleanser! I wasn’t sure at first if I’d like it since it was described as a jelly cleanser and sometimes jelly or gel cleansers can be too foaming and feel stripping on my sensitive skin but this cleanser is the complete opposite of that. It has a gel-like consistency but feels more like a cream with a soft, luxurious feeling on your skin. It was made for sensitive skin so it gently cleanses but it’s still very effective and able to break down sunscreen and makeup.

Yes, I will definitely be repurchasing this! Right now, it’s my go-to everyday cleanser. You can purchase it here directly from the Dr. Idriss website or here at Sephora.

  • Peach & Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum

peach and lily glass skin

I’ve repurchased this popular serum several times before and have always really enjoyed it. It has a super light, gel, almost water-like consistency that does a nice job of providing hydration without adding heaviness. It is supposed to help hydrate, calm, brighten, and firm your skin to give you that glass skin look! I do feel that it hydrates my skin and gives it an overall fresh and healthy appearance. That being said, I have a lot of other hydrating serums that do more for my skin so I find myself not reaching for this product as often. I’ve repurchased it several times because I always enjoy it when I do use it but I don’t think I’m going to be repurchasing it right away this time.

At this time, I’m holding off on repurchasing it while I use up other serums in my collection but I would still recommend this product and it’s great for all skin types. Pick it up here on Peach & Lily’s website.

  • Prequel Redness Reform Soothing Serum

prequel skincare

Prequel has become one of my favorite skincare brands since it launched last year! I’m always excited to try every new product they launch and as someone with sensitive skin, I was hyped for this product! And it definitely lived up to the hype for me. I find this serum to be really hydrating and calming on the skin. It has a thicker, cream-like texture so it’s been great to use in my daytime routine during the summer when I don’t necessarily want to use a moisturizer.

I will be repurchasing this serum and grabbing a backup or two! If you want to try it, you can buy it here on the Prequel website. Prequel has just launched in Target but their full line doesn’t appear to be available online yet.

  • Naturium Retinaldehyde Cream Serum 0.05%

naturium skincare

Another retinaldehyde serum down! This is one of my holy grail skincare products and I’ve repurchased it many, many times! In my opinion, retinol is the GOAT of skincare ingredients and is a must in anyone’s nighttime routine. I had been using beginner retinol serums for a while and was wanting to look for a higher strength retinoid product when this serum was launched from Naturium so it was a match made in heaven! I use this serum 3-4 times a week and I feel like my skin always looks brighter and smoother when I wake up. It has a nice cream-like consistency and a yellow tint but it doesn’t stain the skin.

You can buy it here directly from Naturium’s website or here at Target. They have a 0.05% and a 0.10% but I recommend starting with the lower strength one and easing it into your routine.

  • Peach & Lily Rescue Party Barrier Restore Serum

peach and lily serum

When this new barrier rescue line launched, I was super excited to try the serum & moisturizer! It’s a lightweight serum with 0.8% colloidal oatmeal, ceramides, ectoin, and Peach & Lily’s proprietary calcium complex to help soothe irritated skin and nourish the skin for healthy barrier function. I enjoyed this serum; it was lightweight and hydrating and I felt it was calming for my sensitive skin. However, I don’t know that it really stood out compared to other barrier repair and hydrating serums I have. Given this and the price point, I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing it at this time.

Even though I won’t be repurchasing it, I don’t have any real cons to this product so if you are interested in trying it, you can purchase it here at Peach & Lily’s website.

  • Peach & Lily Rescue Party Barrier Comfort Cream

peach and lily

While I’m not planning to repurchase the serum at this time, I will absolutely be repurchasing this moisturizer! It has become my go-to nighttime moisturizer. It has the same awesome ingredients as the serum, 0.8% colloidal oatmeal, ceramides, ectoin, and their calcium complex along with squalane and jojoba oil to nourish and moisturize the skin. It has such a nice rich texture to deeply moisturize your skin throughout the night but doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin. I think this moisturizer would work for almost all skin types, even those with oiler skin because it’s still important to properly hydrate & moisturize the skin, and the skin barrier support benefits in this are really great.

A big yes to repurchasing this product! You can grab it here at Peach & Lily.

  • CeraVe Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30

cerave sunscreen

CeraVe’s products are always a solid choice, they’re no-nonsense and they deliver what your skin needs. I’ve always felt this sunscreen was one of their more underrated products. It’s a 2-in-1 moisturizer and SPF so it’s the perfect product for a minimal morning skincare routine. I’ve been using this product for several years now and while it’s not my go-to everyday sunscreen, I am always reminded of how great it is whenever I use it and I’ve found that it’s perfect for when I need to quickly put on sunscreen before leaving the house to run errands or just get in an outdoor walk before I shower and do my full morning routine. One thing to note is that it’s only SPF 30 so if I know I’m going to be in the sun for a while, I’ll normally go with something that has SPF 50.

I do plan on repurchasing this because it’s a product I always want to have in my collection. Try it for yourself by grabbing it here at Target or here at Ulta. You should also be able to find it at any drugstore and even most grocery stores.

  • KraveBeauty Beet The Sun SPF 40 PA+++

krave beauty

I love this sunscreen so much! I’ve repurchased several tubes of it and I will definitely be restocking this one. Once I tried this sunscreen, I couldn’t stop reaching for it as my daily choice. I love how truly lightweight this sunscreen is, it’s a thin liquidy consistency that is so easy to blend in and it gives the skin a dewy, hydrated glow. If you have oily skin, I don’t know that this sunscreen will be your favorite because it is pretty dewy.

Give it a try and pick it up here on KraveBeauty’s website.
