beauty products

October is here but let’s do a look back at the products that made it to my beauty favorites list during September! There were some real standout makeup products that I couldn’t put down this month along with some skincare & hair care favorites as well. Check out my thoughts on these awesome products!

Monthly Beauty Favorites

Makeup

Makeup by Mario Soft Pop Plumping Cream Blush in Rose Crush

makeup by mario blush

One of Makeup By Mario’s best selling products are their cream blushes – and for good reason! These blushes have a more sheer formula with a luminous finish to bring a beautiful flush of color to the cheeks. Cream products can be intimating to use if the formula is too pigmented or dries down too quickly but this cream blush is so easy to use. It blends out so seamlessly on the cheeks and is very forgiving if you apply a little too much.

After falling in love with the formula when I bought the Perfect Pink shade, I was excited to pick another shade and wanted to try the Rose Crush shade. I have loved using this shade as we enter fall! It is perfectly described as a spiced rose shade because it’s like a mix between a terracotta and red rose shade.

Buy the blush here at Sephora for $30.

Benefit Cosmetics Wanderful Silky-Soft Powder Blush in Willa

benefit blush

Leaning into the fall vibes, this beautiful berry rose shade has been perfect! I picked this up during the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty sale and have really been loving the color. It’s a vivid color in the pan but applies softly on the cheeks so you can easily blend and build it up to your liking. It has a satin finish that looks really natural on the cheeks. I’ve really enjoyed this blush and I’m looking forward to wearing it more during the fall and winter.

Pick up this blush here at Ulta or here at Sephora for $32.

Nars Light Reflecting Advanced Skincare Foundation

nars light reflecting foundation

I have been reaching for this foundation a lot lately and every time I wear it, I’m reminded just how beautiful it is! It’s a best selling foundation for a reason. This foundation really gives of a “your skin, but better” look while still providing good coverage. It has a natural finish that leaves your skin looking fresh and hydrated with a subtle glow. Even though this is a more hydrating foundation, I don’t find it to be overly dewy or oily so it will work well for most skin types. While it’s not the longest wearing foundation I have, it does holdup well for long wear when I set it.

Pick it up here at Ulta or here at Sephora for $52.

Urban Decay Naked Palette

urban decay naked palette

Have I gone back in time to 2010?! I tried hard to resist buying this palette – I really didn’t need anymore eyeshadow palettes and I usually go for an all matte eye look on most days. But alas, I gave into temptation (and Urban Decay’s claim that this is the last time this palette is coming back, we’ll see about that!) and I don’t regret it! I used this palette all throughout high school and most of college so using it again has brought me so much nostalgia. I was sad when I finally threw my original palette out several years back because it was long past expired.

The shades are perfect for fall and winter and are actually really good for everyday looks. I was unsure if I’d really be able to use this palette to the fullest since I rarely use shimmers on my eyes anymore but these shades are very wearable. Most of the non-matte shades are actually described as satins. These shades have a shimmery sheen to them but the shimmer is very soft and smooth on the lids. I just love how versatile this palette is! You can use it to do an everyday look for go bolder for a full glam look.

Pick up this OG palette exclusively here at Ulta for $59 before it’s off the market for good!

Skincare

Peach Slices Snail Rescue Blemish Busting Toner

peach slices snail rescue

I’ve heard so many good things about snail mucin but I was a bit unsure about trying it because, well, it is an ingredient that comes from snails! I totally regret waiting so long to try it because I have really loved this toner! This toner is formulated with 95% snail mucin along with cica and hyaluronic acid to hydrate, strengthen the skin barrier and help clear pores.

I knew snail mucin was supposed to be super hydrating but I didn’t know it could also help to heal and prevent breakouts. If you’re struggling with a lot of breakouts then I would probably recommend something with salicylic acid in it. But I appreciate that this toner can be used everyday to help keep the skin balanced and help with pores and texture. Outside of the skin clearing benefits, it is really hydrating and feels so smooth on the skin! I think I will really appreciate this toner as we enter dryer, colder months.

Give this toner a try and pick it up here at Ulta for $14.

Body Care

Naturium The Energizer Mandelic Acid Body Wash

naturium body wash

This has been my go-to body wash this past month! I love the Naturium body washes and I really didn’t think anything would rival their Purifier body wash with niacinamide. But this one has a very similar creamy lather and I’ve really enjoyed the fresh, spa-like scent this one has. I normally don’t like for fragrance in my products, especially body care products because they can be way too strong. But the scent in this body wash isn’t overpowering at all. I’ve been working out a lot more over the past month and I feel so refreshed when I use this body wash afterwards. Mandelic acid can also help to neutralize and fight body odor so this is really great after a sweaty workout.

Try out this awesome cleanser and buy it here at Ulta or here at Target for around $16.

Hair Care

Pureology Strength Cure Conditioner

pureology strength cure

I’ve been searching for the perfect conditioner for my super fine hair and I finally found it! This conditioner has a light consistency that won’t weigh down your hair but will leave it feeling soft and conditioned. Pureology’s strength cure line is made to help repair damage, strengthen and protect colored hair. I wouldn’t say my hair is really damaged since I don’t regularly color it or use heat styling products but I do wash and blow-dry my hair at least 3 times a week so it never hurts to use products that will help strengthen my hair.

Pick it up here at Ulta or here at Sephora for $37.

This post is all about my September beauty favorites.
