OCTOBER 2024 BEAUTY FAVORITES
Somehow it’s already November, which means it’s time for another round of monthly beauty favorites! Here are the best beauty products I used during the month of October and my thoughts on each of them.
Monthly Beauty Favorites
Prequel solar shade broad spectrum SPF 46
I brought this sunscreen the day it launched and was so excited to try it out. It has quickly become a favorite of mine – I rarely used anything else during October! I dare say it might be beating out my favorite sunscreen of all time, which is currently the Krave Beauty Beet The Sun SPF. This sunscreen is super lightweight, making it great to wear under makeup! But it’s also very hydrating given how light it feels on the skin. It’s a chemical sunscreen that also contains rice phytomolecules, ethyl ferulate, and microalgae to help boost antioxidant protection.
Try it for yourself and buy it here on Prequel’s website for $25.
The Ordinary Soothing & Barrier Support Serum
I’m definitely late to game with this serum but better late than never! This serum was a viral hit at the beginning of the year and a big reason was definitely its bright pink color. The color comes from the vitamin B12 in it that helps to support the skin barrier and provide hydration to the skin. It also contains niacinamide to help strengthen the skin and reduce the appearance of redness. It has a thicker consistency, which really helps to keep the skin hydrated. I’ve really noticed improvement in using this when my skin is sensitized and I have a feeling this may become a top product of mine.
Pick up a bottle here at Sephora for $17 or here at Ulta.
Byoma Balancing Face Mist
When I first used this face mist, I didn’t think too much of it. I thought it was nice but I had a lot of other products I was trying at the time and it just didn’t stand out. However, I am so glad that I repurchased it and gave it another try! It contains probiotic ferment and allantoin to soothe and support the skin’s microbiome along with a tri-ceramide complex to help hydrate and strengthen the skin barrier. It’s a super light mist that feels really refreshing on the skin. I’ve been using this in both my morning and nighttime routines and I feel like it’s really helped to soothe and hydrate my sensitive skin.
Grab it here at Ulta for $14.99.
BK Beauty 112 Small Angled Face Brush
BK Beauty’s founder Lisa J talked about this brush awhile back on Instagram and it really caught my attention. I’ve been using their brushes for a while and they’re some of the best on the market! I would’ve totally overlooked this brush though because of how small it is but Lisa J said it was one of her favorites to apply cream blush and I decided to give it a try. I am so glad that I did because it works so well to blend out cream or liquid blush. The size is actually great to give you perfect control when blending, which is especially helpful when using highly pigmented blushes.
I’m really glad I picked this brush up and would definitely recommend it for cream blush. You can purchase it here on the BK Beauty website for $28.
Lights Lacquer Fall Nail Collection
With fall here, I have been obsessed with the Home For The Harvest fall nail collection from Lights Lacquer! My favorite shade is probably Lady Marmalade right now, which is a cherry mocha shade that gives me a deep, moody, fall vibe. I’ve also been wearing When September Ends with I Am An Autumn on top and I love this combination! These nail polishes have really helped me shift into fall in style but I also see myself using some of these shades in winter as well.
You can check these polishes out here on their website.

Valentino Donna Born in Roma Parfum
I’ll admit, I’m not really a perfume girlie. When I like a fragrance, I stick to it and don’t often have the urge to try something new. But I was wanting to venture out and buy a new fragrance. I got a sample of this Valentino Born in Roma perfume and I feel in love with it! It has notes of jasmine, bourbon vanilla and blackcurrant to give a warm floral scent. When you wear this it will definitely be obvious you’re wearing perfume since this is a more elegant, luxurious scent as opposed to more natural fragrances but I find it to still be very wearable. I feel comfortable wearing this everyday honestly, I don’t feel like it’s too much for casual wear.
If you want to elevate your perfume game, I highly recommend trying this! There is a reason this is a best seller and you can usually find it included in perfume samplers at Sephora or Ulta if you want to try it out.
Try it for yourself here at Ulta. Price ranges from $92 to $165 depending on the size you get.
